Places where Manipuri Muslim (Pangal) settled in Manipur after 1607 AD.

In previous article I have cited about war between Meitei and Tribes that fought at Toubal in Bishnupur District in which Muslim warriors has played a crucial role to defeat the Tribe rebels.The Manipur King Khagemba Meidingu Maharaj has recognized Mohammed Saani a great warrior.
The Manipur King has acknowledged to Mohammad Saani and his associates of 1007 armies not to return their motherland. In lieu of this Manipur King has offered each of Muslim armies to marriages with Manipuri girls including Muhammad Saani and settled permanently.
After this acknowledgement the Muslims are allowed to settle in Manipur in Mid June ‘1607 AD.
Since than Muslim settles down permanently as the following areas:

Among the said places the latest settled by Pangal Village is Kaji Paat since the era of King Gambir Singh.

History of Naming "Pangal" by Meitei:

According to "Turko Afghan Chada Naoda" by Khairuddin Khullakpam on pages 32-35.

During Khagemba Maidingu Maharaj's period in 1606 AD Muslim Commander lead by MD Sani along with 1007 warriors reached Manipur from Shillet (presently in Bangladesh).During Khagemba Maidingu Maharaj's Period Muslim warriors are allowed to settled as Cultivate,allowed to served in army,Built their own houses,allowed to practice on Justice systems of Islamic custom etc. After few months of settling down in Manipur,Misunderstand by some Meitei farmers ,meitei warriors caught the whole Muslim warriors including Md Sani ,Akong Athouba,Monai Akanba,Aroop Thouba,Suleiya Akanba,Faitong Athouba,Munawar alias Munoon,Namfa Akanba,Khenthou Athouba,Kawa Akanba etc. And brought at Senbi Kondong. On the other side Manipur King Meidingu Maharaj wanted to Occupy the Kabo Valley ( Hill Areas) but the Meitei warriors cant defeated the Tribe Rebel groups namely Maring and Tarao.And the Meitei warriors including the Khagemba Maidingu Maharaj were surrounded by Tribe rebel groups and wanted to kill him. On the other parts of Manipur Kingdom various Tribes started attack to Manipur Valley. When Meitei Commander Nongsamei Athouba wanted to reached Manipur Kingdom from Senbi Kondong to support the war against the tribe rebels but the route connects to Manipur Valley has been blocked by Marring and Tarao Tribe leaders.Tribe Rebels leaders namely Kiyang Lakpa,Kabo Kondong Lakpa,Tumu Lakpa,Mangsa Lakpa. On this Crucial situation when Meitei Warriors cant get any solution to defeated Tribes rabels and save the Khagemba Meidingu Maharaj's Life from Battlefield, Meitei warrior commander Nongsamei Athouba aproached Muslim Commander Md Sani's for help. Muslim Commander Md Sani and his warriors 1007 wanted to defeat the Marring Tribe and Tarao Tribes with his own plan. For this war Muslim Commander Md Sani and his associates along with Meitei warriors prepared the whole night The war lead by Md Sani faught without loosing any life of both sides and captured the Four rabel tribe leaders along with 500 Kabo tribe warriors. On the next day Md Sani and his warriors gifted those captured rebels to the Khagemba Meidingu Maharaj.On this excellent success with talent by Md Sani for the same war the Manipur King Khagemba Meidingu Maharaj gave name as "Pangalba " to him and the whole Muslim warriors as "Pangal Community "
From that Period the whole Meitei Community calling to Muslims as "Pangal ".

How did Manipuri people(Pangal) settled outside of Manipur state?

This is very curious question by people from Manipur to us.
Myself born and broad up in Cachar District, of Assam state.Presently working in Bangalore.When I moved to Banglore I met many people from Manipur from variuos ethnic groups like Meitei, Pangals, Tribes etc.They are very curious about us like either our relatives, properties are in Manipur or nt.Whether we temporarily settled in Cachar or nt.

Here I am giving appropriate answer by the same curious question. I have given summery History of How did Muslim settle in Manipur on last post. Therefore in 1606 AD Manipur king Khagemba Meidingu Maharaj allowed to Muslim to settle permanently in Manipur.Muslims are allowed to marry with Meitei women and termed the community as "Pangal ".Since than the community accepted Manipuri as Mother tongue. During 1800 AD when livelihood become hard for existance in Manipur, Pangal started searched better livelihood outside of Manipur.But onething is remind that those settled down outside of Manipur doesnt represents the whole Pangal or Manipuri (Meitei) Community.They are less that 4-5% of overall population of Manipur.
During 1819-1825 AD so called,"Chahi Tareth Khunthakpa", the Awa Kingdom (Presently Myanmar ) declared war against Manipur Kingdom.The Awa Army has ruined Manipur like Murder, torture, Burn the Houses, Hang till death etc.To get rid of the same war People of Manipur forced to migrate to neighboring states.When Awa army moved from Manipur, the displaced People again settled down in Manipur.But few people of Manipuri Community of 4-5% (Meitei and Pangal) hasn't back to Manipur.

The Pangal community those migrated to outside of Manipur during Awa war and better livelihood on the same period are as follows:

Cachar, Hailakandi, Hojai districts of Assam, Tripura State, Nagaland state, Bangladesh and Myanmar etc.
